This is a big deal for many consumers since the blade in the pocket knife is one of the most essential tools, especially for campers. Victorinox's CEO explained why they made the bladeless Swiss army knife version.

Victorinox's Swiss army knife has been an essential daily tool for many people, such as campers, picnickers, golfers, and even astronauts in space. However, the manufacturer decided to design a new version of its pocket tool without a knife.

This is because of the increasing bans and restrictions on carrying knives across many countries. The Swiss company had to design the new version because of stabbing incidents and knife-related crimes.

"We're concerned about the increasing regulation of knives due to the violence in the world," said Victorinox CEO Carl Elsener via The Guardian.

According to CNN Business' latest report, a Victorinox spokesperson confirmed that Victorinox is already in the early stages of developing the bladeless Swiss army knives. This was announced by the company's official on Tuesday, May 7.

The spokesman said they will complement the existing multi-tool range instead of replacing them. He explained that since innovation is at the core of their brand, they are continuously listening to consumers.

He added that they constantly acknowledge the need for versatility, functionality, and craftsmanship, and the Swiss army knife is popular in more specialized situations and fields.
