Donald Trump has reportedly not paid a $381,630 legal bill for a former MI6 spy he tried to sue regarding Kremlin sex tape allegations.
There are claims that the ex-president of the United States has violated a court order to cover the legal expenses of Christopher Steele.
Trump Accused of Skipping Payment to UK's Ex-MI6 Spy
As per the judge's order, Trump paid $381,630 to the court as security against costs prior to the hearing. This amount was later transferred to Steele in February, Sky News reported.
"We received a £300,000 initial cost order in February, which was later confirmed when his right of appeal was denied at the end of March," said Steele.
He claimed that the former US president has been in violation of that order for the past two months.
Russia's Possession of Trump's Alleged Scandalous Video
This comes after an unsuccessful lawsuit regarding allegations that the Russian government possessed a compromising video of the former president with a sex worker.
According to Daily Mail, Donald Trump filed a lawsuit regarding a dossier put together by Christopher Steele.
The dossier alleged that Trump had hired prostitutes and participated in inappropriate sexual activities in Moscow, as well as attending sex parties in St. Petersburg.
According to Mr. Steele, he is unable to recover his expenses from UK assets owned by Trump. This is because the golf courses in Scotland that are associated with Trump's name are held in trust structures.
If Trump refuses to settle, Steele would have no choice but to pursue repayment in the US, which would result in additional expenses.
