In its annual Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft announced a series of new all-digital versions of its Xbox Series X and S consoles on Sunday (June 9).
Reuters reported that the tech giant's gaming business also released trailers for several new games, including Doom and Call of Duty franchises releases.
The video game event is intended to boost the company's chances of making a profit in a downturn in the gaming industry characterized by low sales, layoffs, and studio shutdowns.

New Games, Consoles
A set of three gaming consoles has been revealed at the event. Two of which were disc-less versions of Xbox Series X and S consoles, while the third was a special edition of the Series X with 2 terabytes of storage.
The launch of the all-digital Xbox hardware was expected to compensate for the downturn in the gaming industry, as well as pose a solid competition against Sony's Playstation 5.
IGN reported that the company also revealed trailers for "Doom: The Dark Ages," "State of Decay 3," "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6," and the latest "Gears of War" installation.
Particularly for the new Call of Duty game, developers Treyarch and Raven showed clips from the game, which would take place in the early 1990s, including new features like all-direction sprints and the fan-favorite "Zombies" mode.
