OpenAI is excited to announce the addition of new top executives to its team and the news of a new partnership with Apple.
OpenAI Welcomes New CFO, Product Chief
In a blog post on Monday, June 10, the artificial intelligence (AI) company introduced two new names to join the team.
Sarah Friar has been named as its new chief financial officer. She has served as CEO of the neighborhood network platform Nextdoor and finance chief at software firm Square. She also co-chaired the Stanford Digital Economy Lab.
OpenAI said Friar would lead a finance team that will invest in their core research skills and ensure they can expand to meet the demands of their increasing client base and their complicated global market.
The AI firm also appointed Kevin Weil, a former president of Planet Labs, as its chief product officer. Weil has extensive experience in the IT industry, having held several executive positions at Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
According to the announcement, Weil's product team will work to translate the company's research into useful goods and services for companies, developers, and consumers.
With the growing relevance of its massive language models in the technology sector and the emergence of competition in the generative AI market, it is no wonder that the firm is strengthening its executive team.

OpenAI Announces New Deal with Apple
OpenAI also announced a new collaboration with Apple, as reported by CNBC. The partnership would see ChatGPT integrated into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS in upgrades later this year.
According to OpenAI's separate blog post, the integration gives users access to ChatGPT features, including picture and document interpretation, text production, and image creation inside Apple's Writing Tools.
Siri can also use ChatGPT's intelligence, as per the announcement. For Apple users, Siri can give them the answer right away before they send any questions, files, or pictures to ChatGPT.
