Earlier this month, Apple made headlines after kicking off its ambitious push into generative AI with the introduction of the Apple Intelligence platform at the recent Worldwide Developers Conference. In return, VCPost reported that the tech giant saw a 5% increase in its stocks.

This new software, designed to enhance apps like Photos and Messages and improve Siri's capabilities, is exclusively available on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models, citing the need for their powerful processors to handle the AI algorithms effectively.

Unfortunately, this decision effectively excludes users with older iPhone models, like the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, which feature less capable chips despite being released concurrently.

Why Apple Intelligence is Limited to iPhone 15 Pro Models

According to Yahoo Finance, Apple Intelligence being limited to newer iPhone 15 models is strategically aimed at accelerating the replacement cycle for iPhones, a challenge for Apple given their devices' longevity and users' tendency to hold onto them for extended periods.

Analysts view this as a tactic to boost sales, contingent on Apple delivering strong functionality without encountering the security and usability issues plaguing similar AI launches by competitors like Microsoft and Google.

After all, the appeal of Apple Intelligence lies in its potential to streamline daily tasks, enhance productivity, and deliver more personalized user experiences. By directly incorporating AI into its core applications, Apple aims to provide users with tools to understand and adapt to their preferences and behaviors.

This means users may experience faster and more accurate responses from Siri, smarter suggestions in Photos, and more efficient interactions within Messages, which can significantly improve usability and convenience in everyday use.

However, the effectiveness of Apple Intelligence in driving consumer adoption will be closely watched as it progresses through early beta stages and prepares for a wider rollout later in the year.
