According to Reuters, an internal memo from Microsoft gaming CEO Phil Spencer said this transition is part of a broader reorganization in Xbox's marketing department.

Jerret West has been pivotal in shaping Xbox's marketing strategies, overseeing games, consoles, and the Game Pass subscription service campaigns.
His tenure at Microsoft includes eight years in Xbox's marketing and product division, a stint at Netflix leading various marketing teams, and returning to Xbox in 2019 as its chief marketing officer.
His exit follows Microsoft's recent Xbox Games Showcase, wherein new all-digital consoles and game trailers were unveiled in an effort to reignite consumer interest.

Xbox Shakeup
