Krispy Kreme offered limited-edition doughnuts this week inspired by the iconic '90s TV sitcom Friends. However, not all fans were happy.

The avid American fans were confused because the Friends doughnuts were only available in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Monday and Tuesday, June 17 and 18.

'Friends' Doughnuts

It all started on June 12, when Krispy Kreme UK and Krispy Kreme Ireland published identical Instagram posts teasing the doughnuts. Official announcements were made the next day.

Krispy Kreme stated in one of the posts that the doughnuts are a commemoration of the TV show's 30th anniversary.

The doughnut variations include How You Doin'? (a mango and passion fruit flavor and looks like Monica Geller's door), We Were on a Coffee Break! (a café latte treat), Rachel's Trifle (strawberry and custard-filled) and the glazed one with chocolate icing and sprinkles called Friends.

The chain also offered a so-called Joey Dozen Share doughnut slicer.

Confused US Fans

Many Krispy Kreme and Friends fans were confused by the announcement and rushed to social media to voice their opinions, according to Fox Business.

An Instagram user commented on a post promoting the new doughnuts: "Friends was a huge US show (I know it is big internationally as well, but come on)."

Another individual asked: "It's a show in the US. So why do they get this in the UK and not here?"

One user said they loved the new doughnuts but added: "It's also showing me how much we miss out on." Another commented that they wanted to see those in the US, too.

Fox Business asked Krispy Kreme if there would be a potential US launch of the Friends doughnuts, but a representative said they do not have any other information yet.
