Bugatti, the producer of high-performance vehicles such as the Chiron, has introduced a new generation of hypersport cars - the Tourbillon.
What We Know So Far
The 2027 Tourbillon's 1,800 horsepower come from a combination of its two electric motors and its 8.3-liter V16 combustion engine.
The Tourbillon can reach 227 mph, but MotorTrend claims that Bugatti is aiming for 300 mph to compete with the Chiron Super Sport 300+. This might be achieved by a software update or in future versions of the car model.
A digital screen, composed of a combination of crystal glass and aluminum, is concealed inside the car until the touchscreen is extended from the center console.
Bugatti is now accepting orders for Tourbillons, with delivery scheduled for 2026. Only 250 units will be produced, and the asking price is an exorbitant 3.9 million euros, or over $4 million.
'Beautiful Inside and Outside'
According to Fox Business, Bugatti said that the new model was inspired by an invention made by a Swiss-born genius who lived in France in 1801. The French luxury automaker praised the invention, saying it was an unparalleled work of art, complex and aesthetically pleasing, and the pinnacle of watchmaking even after 200 years.
In a statement, Bugatti chief technology officer Emilio Scervo explained the company's philosophy, which is to find innovative ways to improve upon existing technology while simultaneously elevating every facet of Chiron to create a masterpiece that will last for generations.
"The result is a car which is beautiful inside and outside, the most powerful Bugatti to date which simultaneously elevates mechanical fascination and technical beauty to a whole new level," Scervo said.
