China has expressed willingness to work with US dairy companies that would like to expand their business in the Chinese market, according to Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen.
According to Reuters, Wang's comments were made during a meeting with Krysta Harden, President of the US Dairy Export Council.
China Welcomes US Dairy Companies
Krysta Harden's visit to Beijing follows China's recent announcement that it may introduce provisional anti-dumping measures on pork imports from the European Union (EU).
This decision is part of a year-long investigation that started on June 17 and appears to target major pork exporters like Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The probe was initiated after the EU imposed anti-subsidy duties on Chinese electric vehicles.
China-US Trade Tensions
During their discussions, Chinese and US officials shared perspectives on economic and trade relations, emphasizing cooperation in dairy products and other agricultural areas.
China's positive reception of US dairy companies highlights the two countries' continuing dialogue amid broader trade tensions.
