OpenAI announced on their official Discord server that the rollout of the advanced Voice Mode in alpha, originally scheduled for late June, has been delayed to sometime in July due to unresolved issues.

OpenAI Delays Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT Plus

According to OpenAI, the launch of Advanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT Plus customers may be delayed until the fall.

This is contingent upon the completion of internal safety and reliability checks. The delay will not, however, impact the rollout of the new video as well as screen sharing capabilities showcased separately during OpenAI's spring press event.

According to TechCrunch, these capabilities encompass solving math problems based on visual input and providing explanations for different settings menus on a device.

These features are compatible with ChatGPT on both smartphones and desktop clients, including the macOS app that was recently made accessible to all ChatGPT users.

GPT-4o's Realistic Voice, Image Interaction

In May, the company announced its plans to launch a new AI model called GPT-4o. This advanced model is designed to have realistic voice conversation capabilities and can interact seamlessly across text and image.

This release is part of the company's ongoing efforts to maintain its leading position in the rapidly evolving field of AI technology, Reuters reported.

The new audio features will allow users to have natural, uninterrupted conversations with ChatGPT. Users can now speak to ChatGPT and receive real-time responses without any delays.

Additionally, they can interrupt ChatGPT while it is speaking, which has been a challenge for AI voice assistants in creating realistic conversations.
