American Electric Power Names Bill Fehrman as New CEO

American Electric Power (AEP) has named Bill Fehrman its new chief executive officer, effective August 1, 2024. Fehrman will succeed Benjamin Fowke, who has been serving as interim CEO since February following an agreement with investor Carl Icahn to grant his representatives two board seats.

Bill Fehrman previously served as president and CEO of Centuri Holdings, where he played a crucial role in launching the company publicly and collaborating with regulated utilities to modernize energy infrastructure.

He also led Berkshire Hathaway Energy, overseeing substantial financial growth and customer service initiatives. His career also includes leading MidAmerican Energy Company, PacifiCorp Energy, and Nebraska Public Power District.

13th President and 9th CEO in AEP
