The New York Times editorial board suggested that President Joe Biden should consider halting his campaign following his less-than-stellar debate performance against former President Donald Trump on Thursday, June 28.

Even the New York Times has now criticized Biden, calling for him to drop out of the race for the White House following his disastrous debate performance.

The New York Times Calls on Biden to Drop Presidential Bid

The article criticized President Biden's decision to continue running for office, describing it as a risky move that could jeopardize the country's future.

According to sources, party donors and congressmen have reportedly set a deadline for the President to demonstrate his vitality following the intense confrontation with Trump.

Biden, 81, took to the Atlanta, Ga., debate stage with a raspy voice and a minor cough. The question of his age and mental abilities has been an ongoing issue for his campaign, and the debate was viewed as a chance to demonstrate to the nation that he remains capable of serving.

The New York Times made it clear that Biden has undergone a significant change over the past four years, describing him as a mere reflection of his former self, a once prominent public servant.

Biden Still Believes He's Mosat Capable Democratic Candidate for 2024 Presidential Race

According to Biden, he believes he is the most capable candidate to confront and overcome the threat of tyranny. The board noted that his argument is primarily based on his victory over Trump in 2020.

The performance caused a wave of concern among Democrats, prompting renewed discussions about whether Biden should consider stepping aside and letting another candidate challenge Trump.

Biden's campaign and the White House have made it clear that he has no plans to leave. However, he found it challenging to articulate his plans for a potential second term and to address Trump's provocative statements.

The board emphasized the gravity of the situation by highlighting the need for a new nominee at this stage of the campaign. They believe that this decision is necessary due to the significant threat that Trump poses to American democracy.
