With Amazon's Prime Day merely hours away, analysts are expecting that the retailer would receive a $14 billion paycheck.
Quartz reported that data compiled by Adobe Analytics showed that the two-day event beginning Tuesday (July 16) would be able to drive the mentioned amount, which would set a new record for the sale.
The data also predicted that the first day was expected to be the biggest mobile shopping day of the year to date, with forecasts saying that it would generate $7.1 billion in online sales, and an additional $6.9 billion on the second day.
Reuters reported that the company's total projected amount would be a 10.5% increase from last year's Prime Day.
Amazon vs. Other Retailers in Summer Shopping Spree
However, Amazon is not alone in launching an online sale.
VCPost previously reported that Walmart had its own deals sale days before Prime Day, which was targeted towards the general public and not just to Amazon users.
It is also understood that Target launched its own summer sale.
Despite this, Adobe stressed that Amazon would dominate the season's deals as Prime Day this year would include massive discounts, back-to-school shopping, and flexible payment methods.
Data showed that electronics would compose the largest discounts at 22%, followed by apparel (20%), home and furniture (17%), toys (15%), televisions (14%).
Adobe's lead insights analyst Vivek Pandya said that there was expected a "really strong momentum" for back-to-school products.
