Arkami, maker of myIDkey, raised USD 1.8 million in Series A funds. The round was led by McNeel Capital, Gordon Clemons, Mark Swanson and other unnamed angel investors. The California-based password management system maker said that it would use the money to hasten the development of their myIDkey device to meet the growing demand. Arkami's Kickstarter campaign for their flagship product sold 5,000 myIDkey units in just thirty days. Arkami said that the company expects to start shipping the device sometime in the fourth quarter.
Arkami's password management device enables users to maintain their passwords using the secure USB and Bluetooth-connected unit. A single myIDkey costs USD 170. myIDkey has safety features like fingerprint locking and voice-search to keep passwords secure. Investors Gordon Clemons and Mark Swanson lauded the management team behind the product. "The myIDkey team consists of industry veterans well versed in transitioning from a product concept into a successful enterprise and I am excited to invest in Arkami," Swanson said.
