Bryan Cranston is Lex Luthor for 2015 Superman?

When Cosmicbooknews.com posted an exclusive story on American actor Bryan Cranston confirming to play Lex Luthor for the 2015 Superman, several entertainment and news outfits helped made the news gain notoriety. Twitter and other social media sites exploded with comments about the supposed casting.

The books website had promised in its story that the "Breaking Bad" actor inked a six-appearance Marvel Studios movie deal, and may even go up to ten appearances. Earlier, actor Ben Affleck was confirmed to play Batman and may appear on 13 films playing the character. "Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill would be reprising his role as Superman for the 2015 Zack Snyder film. Warner Bros, the studio who will be producing the Superman sequel, had not released any confirmation or comment on casting Cranston.

The Superman film franchise has been bringing a lot of impressive revenue to any studio or entertainment company connected with it. According to aggregate data from Box Office Mojo, the film franchise earned more than USD1.5 billion in revenue worldwide. "Man of Steel" earned director Zack Snyder's best box office sales at USD644 million in global revenues. DC Comics currently owns the Superman copyright.
