Travel marketplace Demeure had raised USD4 million in its third round of seed funding. The funding came from around 50 private investors in Canada. The new investment gave the Canada-based startup firm a total of USD8 million in funds. However, it has not yet taken any institutional funding. Last week, Demeure's platform was publicly launched after its 24-month pilot operation.
The startup firm's service subscription model target high-end travelers. The travel marketplace is where both renters and owners could choose between entry level and premium account for added benefits. They can even post their bids for specific rental homes listed on the site.
According to Demeure's CEO Peter Schwartz, the funding would be used to ramp up the company's sales and marketing. It would also be used in improving the company platform's user privacy and engagement.
Demeure offers its clients with booking priority for a premium plan of USD495 and USD995 a year.
