Mobile inbox developer Boxer received a seed round investment of USD 3 million from Sutter Hill Ventures. Boxer is a company that has provided a platform that seeks to extend the standard mobile experience. Boxer has already formed strategic partnerships with Dropbox, LinkedIn, Box and Facebook this year to carry out its goals. It is also looking at forming more partnerships in the future.
Boxer Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Andrew Eye said users have become frustrated at the limitations of stock email applications. He added, "Now, with the backing from Sutter Hill Ventures, Boxer can continue to execute on our strategy of extending the mobile mail experience with relevant third party information and interactions."
Sutter Hill Ventures Managing Director Sam Pullara said mobile devices have revolutionized the way people work, but mobile inbox applications had remained the same as it was ten years ago. "Boxer was an attractive investment opportunity because it opens the inbox to third party innovation, and a new era of mobile productivity," he added.
