Ubisoft said it does not have plans of bringing the downloadable content or DLC of Assassin's Creed IV to other consoles. Assassin's Creed IV DLC would remain available only on Sony's PlayStation 3 and 4. A promotional video from Sony's PS4 earlier said that the exclusivity agreement between the two companies would only be good for six months.
Ubisoft told games review site Joystiq, "I can confirm that at the current stage the PS exclusive DLC isn't planned for Xbox 360/Xbox One."
Assassin's Creed III helped Ubisoft rake in a staggering USD 83.3 million in profits last year when it sold 12 million copies. In an interview with CNNMoney, Wedbush Securities Video Game Analyst Michael Pachter said he expected Assassin's Creed IV to sell 8 million copies.
Peter Warman of video game research company Newzoo told CNNMoney that the Assassin's Creed franchise has sold over 57 million copies through retail. He added, "At least 50 million Americans and 40 million Europeans still play an Assassin's Creed game from time to time."
