AetherPal scored USD6 million in Series A funding to continue the development of its mobile software business. The investment round was led by New Venture Partners and Point Judith Capital, according to a TechCrunch report.
The new funding reportedly came in time with the announcement of its new chief executive officer in Daniel Deeney.
AetherPal's primary product is a pre-loaded software that allows mobile carriers to access your smartphone for remote support. Through the software, a mobile phone owner could call support if he or she run in some phone trouble. Technical support would be able to override the software remotely with proper permission and security measures, according to the said report.
Although AetherPal is not well-known to many, its preloaded its software had been adopted on more than 20 million devices, including Verizon. The names of the rest of the companies wer econfidential, said the TechCrunch report
