The chairman of British oil and gas conglomerate BG Group would be joining the board of directors of Saudi Aramco. This was confirmed by sources familiar with the said move with Bloomberg News.
In a report by the news agency, Andrew Gould had begun serving his three year term as a director in the largest oil company in the world. He had already attended his first board meeting early in the summer.
Bloomberg was told by sources that Gould had replaced David O'Reilly, former chairman and CEO of Chevron. He had served on the board of directors of Aramco between 2010 until early 2013.
Both BG Group and Aramco did not confirm the said appointment through their respective spokespersons.
The other members of the Aramco board are said to be former World Bank director Peter Woicke, former Royal Dutch Shell chairman Mark Moody-Stuart as well as Saudi Arabia's Minister of Petroleum Ali Al-Naini.
