For the nth time, Celine Dion had to set the record straight as to false reports of her untimely demise.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Dion said, "Many years ago, I (apparently) killed myself in my own garage. Don't ask me why I don't want to be a part of the showbiz industry!"
The French Canadian singer said the rumors of her death make her a little mad because of its impact on her close knit family.
She said, "Sometimes it's freaky because I have to call my family about it. I was celebrating the birthday of my twins in Montreal and I was getting these phone calls saying there was stuff on Facebook I was dead. The thing that worries me is my mum. It makes me a little mad - she's 86 years old and if I'm not on the phone telling her I'm ok four seconds after it's on the news... it doesn't matter what they say, it's the imact it has on your family."
Dion said these kinds of news reports make her 'stay away from that side of things even more.' She added, "But I'm glad I'm not dead!"
Stories of her death come out regularly, with one saying she had died in a car crash and another one said her death was due to a plane crash.
The Canadian singer, actress, songwriter and entrepreneur has an estimated net worth of USD400 million. She first emerged as a teen star after her manager and future husband mortgaged his home to finance her first record in the French-speaking world. She gained her greatest fame in the 1990s, reaching out to the world to become one of the most successful female artists through such songs as "Beauty and the Beast", "My Heart Will Go On", "Because You Loved Me" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now".
