Sony Corp. appears to have a lead with its PlayStation 4 on more Black Friday wish lists than Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox One, USA Today said in a report. USA Today, citing a new Nielsen survey, said three out of ten active gamers (33%) definitely plan to purchase the PS4. 22% of gamers are on the hunt for Xbox One, while 10% look to buy a Wii U.
Nielsen's Video Game Tracking is a survey of 1,200 male and female active gamers aged 7 to 54, the report said.
Nielsen's estimates corroborate a similar finding from research firm Parks Associates. It found that more than one-third (36%) of those shopping for a console plan to purchase a PS4 against 27% for Xbox One. Parks Associates polled 2,500 heads of broadband households, USA Today said. Meanwhile, a survey from consumer experiences firm SDL found that PS4 had a product commitment score of 54% since it hit the stores two weeks ago. In contrast, Xbox One had a 48% product commitment score. Microsoft's game console was released last week, the report said.
