New York Knicks' Raymond Felton faces gun charges

New York Knicks point guard, Raymond Felton was arrested on charges of illegal gun possession. This was after he turned himself in early morning last Tuesday, according to a police report. Felton's arrest was initiated hours after the Knicks lost a game at Madison Square last Monday night.

According to the same police report, a woman, who was unnamed, turned in a handgun at the 20th Precinct station house. The woman alleged that the handgun belonged to the basketball superstar. Meanwhile, a police officer said that Raymond Felton was arrested on charges of illegal gun possession after his wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton turned in the basketball star's handgun. The two were in the process of getting divorced.

At 12:50 a.m. of Tuesday, Felton turned himself in at the same station, the police said. Raymond Felton was charged with second, third and fourth degree counts of weapons possession. Two of the charges filed against him were felonies. A court trial is expected to go on Tuesday, said the police report.
