According to a tweet in her official Twitter account @DollyParton, the country superstar confirmed that she will present in Glastonbury Festival this year. Parton will perform in the said event and would appear on Sunday, June 29.
The gig in Glastonbury would form a part of her Blue Smoke World Tour. Parton's world tour will start on June 8 in the UK and Liverpool. Glastonbury's organizer Emily Eavis tweeted,
"We are delighted to say that Dolly is coming to Glastonbury... It really doesn't get much better than this!"
It was first reported last December that Parton would be a part of the Glastonbury Festival this year. The country superstar was also given a slot last December. In the same month, it was also reported that Parton would appear on the festival stage in the Sunday Legends slot at Worthy Farm. Parton's usual duet partner, Kenny Rogers, was part of the Glastonbury Festival last year and performed on a Sunday afternoon. Aside from Dolly Parton, Lily Allen and Arcade Fire were also confirmed to be a part of this year's festival.
