Pippa Middleton did not outshine her sister Kate during the royal wedding in 2011. However, Pippa became an instant celebrity overnight after photos of her buoyant bum and curve hugging gown were shown all over magazines, newspapers and on the Internet.
The royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William was the most talked about in 2011. It had caught the whole world's attention which garnered the younger Middleton international fame. This was after Pippa, Kate's younger sister who is now 30, bent down to fix the long train of the duchess' wedding gown.
Over dinner last Tuesday at the Women in Advertising and Communications in London, Pippa said, "As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and - you may say - its backside."
Pippa, who is also a triathlete and a tennis player, said that she was glad to have worn her Alexander McQueen gown that launched her international popularity in stride. Pippa's gown also started a whole lot of lookalikes. She also said that the gown, "fitted," adding that "in retrospect, it fitted a little too well."
