LeBron James shows off mask, returns to hard court

After incurring an injury last February 20, LeBron James was forced to wear a mask. However, James had made a fashion statement out of his broken noses which was injured in a winning game against Oklahoma City Thunder. The injury happened during the middle of the fourth quarter when Serge Ibaka, Thunder’s forward, struck LeBron on the face on his way to the basket.

LeBron returned to the hard court last Thursday after a week of recovery. The basketball star wore a black carbon fiber mask as a protection to his broken nose. LeBron’s absence has led the Heat to a 108-82 victory against the New York Knicks.

Heat forward Shane Battier said, "I told him I'd expect nothing less from him -- fashion-forward, cutting-edge Renaissance man that LeBron is. I thought it looked pretty sweet. I don't think that it will inspire people to go out there and break their nose. But if you're going to do it, it can look kind of cool. Only LeBron can make breaking your nose look cool."
