Windows Phone users can now download the Facebook Messenger app on their phones, according to TechCrunch.
The messaging app had been first made available on iOS and Android. It took two years for Windows to have the app, but the software giant is working to port more popular apps to Windows Phone such as Instagram, Vine, and Waze, the report detailed.
NDTV Gadgets cites a portion from a Windows Phone blog: "With Facebook Messenger, you will be able to see who's online for a private or group chat, send a private message, and bring messages to life with pictures and stickers. You can also share your location so people can know if you are nearby. All your Facebook friends are automatically added to the People Tab for you to get started sending messages but you can also import new contacts too."
The version 3.0.12.0 of Facebook Messenger can be downloaded for free from the Windows Phone Store. However, some features like voice messaging and chat heads are still not available for Windows Phone 8, the NDTV Gadgets said.
Joe Belfiore of Microsoft said they are still testing out the app for a given period of time, wrote TechCrunch.
