Suns' P.J. Tucker faces disciplinary action after elbowing Blake Griffin

The NBA sanctioned one game on P.J. Tucker, Phoenix Sun’s starting forward, after elbowing Blake Griffin. The Sun’s was defeated by the Clippers on Monday night in a game in Los Angeles.

Tucker will not be allowed to play on Wednesday in a match against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The elbowing happened after Tucker and Griffin fell to the floor while aiming for a rebound with the clock leaving 5 ½ minutes to go.

According to a statement, Griffin said, “We got tangled up, went down and, you know, took a little forearm. But it happens. I’ll let someone else handle that.”

Meanwhile Tucker remarked that he was, “Just playing hard. No comment. Just playing hard. That’s it.”
Suns' coach Jeff Hornacek said, “He was standing there and Blake takes him to the ground and rolls on top of him and he just tries to get him off. I don’t know why that would be a suspension. That shouldn’t even have been a foul.”
