Mid-size earthquake struck LA, news anchor's video went viral on YouTube

An earthquake was strongly felt across Los Angeles early Monday. According to a report from CBS News, this was the strongest felt shaker in the area since 1994.

The earthquake struck before 6:30 a.m. It hit six miles northwest of Beverly Hills and was centered north-northwest of Westwood. According to LA police, no reported damage was recorded after the shake.

Meanwhile, a viral video of a news anchor was uploaded on YouTube following the shake. According to TIME, the “face” of the news anchor, Chris Schauble, deserved an Emmy following the hiding-under-the-table-when-an-earthquake-strikes routine was executed. Watch the video below:

On the other hand, Dr. Lucy Jones of the USGS told KCBS that aftershocks would be felt whole day. Jones also said that the 2.7 magnitude earthquake was the biggest shaker felt in LA after the Northridge quake in 1994. USGS officials said that a bigger earthquake could follow in the next three days.
