The KOMO helicopter was also used by KING5, an NBC affiliate. The helicopter crashed downtown Seattle near Space Needle around 7:40 a.m. PT. Recorded damages include three vehicles that went into flames after the crash. This had cause huge trail of smoke into the air.

The cause of the crash was not yet identified, officials said.

Meanwhile, according to sources who told Greg Feith, NTSB investigator, the helicopter was on top of a five story building. Construction materials were also there and were seen to possibly strike the chopper. Feith said that investigators would take a look at why the helipad was still used given that there were other materials there and cable wires situated nearby.
