Starbucks Chief Operating Officer Troy Alstead in a phone interview with the Chicago Tribune that the restaurant chain would expand its light bites and night alcohol menu. The new menu would include Malbec wine and bacon wrapped dates. The new menu would be implemented in thousand of stores which is expected to help boost company sales after several years, said Alstead.
Alstead also added, "We've tested it long enough in enough markets -- this is a program that works. As we bring the evening program to stores, there's a meaningful increase in sales during that time of the day."
Starbucks had been focused to sell more products aside from coffee to help increase its US growth. Yesterday, the company announced that it would double its market value to USD100 billion through a long term plan. Starbucks also said that would soon launch an app for smartphone users to be able to place their orders ahead of time.
