Inmarsat breaks silence over MH370 automated signal pings

Inmarsat breaks its silence on the ongoing search efforts for the missing flight MH370. The company confirmed reports that signals from Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 registered in the satellite network. Inmarsat also said that they have handed the valuable information to SITA communications specialist and were also handed to the airline.

Inmarsat Senior VP Chris McLaughlin was interviewed by Megyn Kelly on the Kelly File airing on Fox to discuss the mysterious disappearance of the jumbo jetliner. This was the first time Inmarsat broke its silence after two weeks the plane went missing.

The company estimated that the missing plane went west rather than the reported northeastern path flight MH370 had taken. When asked regarding the certainty of the signals being pinged to Inmarsat satellites were from the missing Boeing 777, McLaughlin said the company is “absolutely certain that the technology was seeing the readings from this aircraft."

Today marks the second week of the multinational search for the missing MH370 flight, the biggest search efforts in the aviation history.
