UPDATE: Malaysian authorities say flight MH370 did not pass by Maldives

By

Earlier today it was reported that the missing flight MH370 was said to have been spotted in a remote area in the islands of Maldives. However, Malaysian authorities were quick to reply stating that the possibility that MH370 flight passed by Maldives is not true.

In a statement released by Malaysia Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, he said "Based on the monitoring up to date, no indication of Flight MH370 has been observed on any military radars in the country.”

Hussein continued, "Furthermore, the data of radars at Maldives airports have also been analysed and shows no indication of the said flight. The Maldives National Defence Force will continue to render any assistance required by the Maldives Police Service and international authorities on the search for the missing flight and related issues.”

Previous reports said that residents of Kuda Huvadhoo in Dhaal saw a “jumbo jetliner” passing just above the island with a loudly noise on March 8, the same date Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing.
