WATCH LIVE: Detroit Red Wings vs. Minnesota Wild

The Detroit Red Wings need to start a better game plan if they want a longer appearance in the postseason. This was after another loss following last Saturday’s season-high fifth consecutive loss with the Minnesota Wild.

Last Thursday, Detroit’s Daniel Alfredsson contributed a score with a fraction of second left in overtime. This gave the team its second straight win and third in four games against Pittsburgh.

According to Coach Mike Babcock, "We made some mistakes, they made mistakes, but we stayed with it and found a way to win a game. That was a big win for us."

The winning game was announced after two days following a video review. While Toronto was trying to score a goal, Alfredsson’s deflection by a Penguins defenseman was reviewed and waived off. This resulted for the Red Wings winning 3-2.

Alfredsson said, "You do a lot of good things, you get lucky."

Meanwhile, Detroit has been looking to reach the postseason for 23 straight years. The Red Wings rank ninth in the Eastern Conference but are within the wild card spots by three points.
