Judge Joe Brown, the arbiter in the TV reality show Judge Joe Brown, was held in contempt by a juvenile judge in Tennessee last Monday. This was according to a court spokesman, reported CNN.

The 66 year old Brown was asked to represent a client in a child support case. However, Brown was upset when he was told by the magistrate that his case was on the afternoon list. This led Brown challenging the authority of another judge, reported CNN.

Brown was sentenced five days in jail. According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Brown was later released on his own recognizance.

Magistrate Harold Horne was described to be a real laid-back person. In fact, he gave Brown the chance to calm down before holding him in contempt, said a CNN report. However, Brown was so upset that he was already held in contempt for five times before he was brought out of the courtroom.
