James Rebhorn died at 65 last Friday in his South Orange, New Jersey home. This was confirmed by the actor’s agent, Dianne Busch. Rebhorn’s famous roles included Mr. Ripley, The Good Wife, Meet the Parents and Basic Instinct, to name a few. The late actor’s recent role was in the movie Homeland where he played as Frank Mathison, Claire Danes' father.
Rebhorn spent five decades in the industry with more than 100 movie and TV credits. The actor was diagnosed with melanoma (skin cancer) in 1992 but has continued to work until last month, reported BBC.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Rebhorn has been fighting the disease all this time. His agent said, "He died [on] Friday afternoon at his home in New Jersey, where he had been receiving hospice care for a week and a half."
Rebhorn is married to wife Rebecca and has two daughters.
