Single-page promotional website creation platform Smore has closed $1.7 million in its seed round with Founder's Co-op as the lead investor. Greylock Partners Israel and other angels also contributed to the funding, according to TechCrunch.

The company is planning to use the new capital to expand its market reach and improve its existing products. It wants to make a simplified version of its paid promotions and mailing list products to gain traction over its rivals. In addition, Smore is eyeing a platform for mobile content creation, the report detailed.

Smore's service is designed mostly for non-technical users. It claims to have more than 500,000 registered users already with more than 1 million flyers published. Its tools also offer Facebook page management, online content promotion, and mailing list management. On top of that, it has a user-friendly analytics tool that will help customers gauge their page's performance, the report explained.

Smore has a 30-day free trial for its service. Beyond that, the firm already charges a monthly fee within the range of $19 and $99 for its product packages, TechCrunch reported.
