Apple's iPhone 5s won the spotlight following a recent customer survey satisfaction in South Korea. According to the survey, more consumers are satisfied with their purchase of the iPhone 5s compared to competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the LG G2. Apple has been creating a considerable lead against local competition setting the stage for the release of the iPhone 6.
The survey was conducted by a South Korean company Marketing Insight. The company has been tracking user satisfaction about smartphones depending on a series of factors. According to the most recent survey results, Apple's iPhone 5s got better rating compared to smartphones like the Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S5 and the LG G2 Pro among others.
The iPhone 5s posted an above average score on categories such as processing speed, multimedia speed, design, display, size, weight, UI design, usability and response time. The Samsung Galaxy S5, on other hand, scored below average. Samsung did not do well compared to the iPhone 5s but it was also surprising to see the device not performing well against other Android units. The handset scored particularly lower in design against its Android relatives. The S5 placed six after the Nexus 5, iPhone 5, first and second generation LG G2.
A total of 9,397 consumers participated in the survey. The sample population involved people who purchased smartphones from October to April 2014. Apple Insider quoted Korean website Ohmy News about the survey:
"The gap of satisfaction between Apple and domestic products has rather increased."
"The satisfaction score of Apple products was 798 out of 1000 which made Apple take the first place with almost 200 points of gap between domestic products. LG, Samsung and Pantech had gained 609, 600, and 577 respectively, which are of more or less the same score."
An estimated 90 percent of people who purchased the iPhone said they are "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their devices.
