Many LG G2 users have updated their devices to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. However, updating their devices to KitKat may not have been a good move for some as problems started surfacing following installation. Fortunately, there are several ways to go around these issues.
How to Fix Battery Life
Software updates should bring better battery life but not for LG G2 users. According to some users, their devices started losing battery life more once it ran on Android 4.4.2. According to AndroidPIT, there several reasons for battery drain in LG G2 including location data and programs. Programs like Facebook and Google require more battery as they search for location details of the user.
It is best to turn off the GPS or WiFi location features of these programs to avoid battery drain. Users can see which apps use location data in the settings section. To disable some of these programs, go to Device Settings, open Location and change it to "battery saving mode." The Batter Settings Menu also offers a battery saver mode option. If this does not work, it is best to do a factory reset.
How to Fix LTE Network and Mobile Data Issues
Usually, when the device experiences problems with mobile data connection and LTE networks users should wait for another update. Another fix would be switching the handset to airplane mode then returning to normal settings a few minutes after. Users may have to get used to switching between modes to connect. Those who own Sprint units can check out Sprint Zone and open My Device. Proceed to Dashboard > Data Network > Update Profile and finish with OK.
As for problematic GPS, users should make sure high accuracy is turned on. It may be an issue for the battery of the device but people can choose to shut off other programs to conserve battery. To switch to High Accuracy, open Settings then proceed to Location.
