Apple's WorldWide Developers Conference finally started. During the start of the event, the company has revealed details about its next mobile operating system: the iOS 8. According to reports, many consider the introduction of the iOS 8 as the biggest yet following the company's revelation of the App Store. The new iOS 8 promises users and developers a series of new features including components that can develop new applications. Is the iOS 8 the next big thing?

According to Wall Street Journal, the iOS 8 comes with a few standout amazing features including an iCloud Photo Library. The library allows people to enjoy their videos and photos throughout different devices. In the same way, the new Messages app lets users share their video, photos and voices easily in just one swipe. Apple has also included a new Health app that gives people a good idea or insight about their fitness and health conveniently.

Other reported features of the OS include iCloud Drive, Family Sharing and Apple's QuickType keyboard. The iCloud Drive allows gives people a file storage option they can access anywhere. Family Sharing, on other hand, gives an easy way to share calendars, photos and purchases under the same roof.

"iOS 8 offers simpler, faster and more intuitive ways to use your device with incredible new features like iCloud Photo Library, a new Messages app, the QuickType keyboard and an entirely new Health app," Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering, explained according to the Wall Street Journal.

"We're also giving developers amazing new tools to make managing your health and your home from your devices an integrated, simple and secure experience."

As mentioned, Apple has been working on working on its platforms to be friendlier to developers. Analysts believe it will be interesting to see how the iOS 8 works on Apple's upcoming hardware.
