Duck Dynasty Season 6 Premiers with Robertson Family and New Testimonial Book

Duck Dynasty attempts to spice up their ratings in season 6 with guest Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal to award the Robertson Family scheduled to show on June 11.

The move comes in effort to boast rating and ultimately make a comeback to their previous glory days. In an article from Christian Today and other news sources, it is speculated that the governors appearance on the show may be a political strategy in a presidential bid in 2016. This is partially credited given the significant influence in American media the show has.

As part of the series comeback, the Roberston Family will be receiving an award from Gov. Jindal in honor of their Duck Commander business. The family has been managing the company since 1972 and has now turned into a multi-million dollar entity. According to a report by LA Times, the governor went to see Willie Robert personally to hand him the first-ever Governor's Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence. Robert has served as CEO of Duck Commander until now.

The show's fourth season has been its most successful gathering as much as 9 million viewers. However, Phil Robertson's stint in GQ magazine led to controversy discouraging ratings from the show. Phil gave a piece of his mind about African Americans and gay people which did not register positively to the public. He was suspended from the series following the interview.

NewsOK.com also reported about Phil Robertson and his son's testimonies pubished in their new book titled "The Duck Commander Faith and Family Bible". At the core fo the book will portray the family values of faith, family, fellowship, forgiveness and freedom.

Breathecast also shared that "the book also features the King James Version of the Bible, plus bible reading plans from both Robertson men."

"This is just one more way that we can present, as ministers, the message of Jesus to the world around us," Phil Roberston said. Alan expressed the same thing following the announcement.

"One of the things Dad and I are excited about for this Bible project, is that it's timeless because it's connected to the Word of God," Alan added.

Robert Sanford, Vice President and Associate Publisher at Thomas Nelsons Bible Group, shared his views about the book: "We are honored and excited to be working with Phil and Al Robertson on this new Bible...The Robertson family's passion for the Word is infectious and the impact of their ministry is amazing. We see this Bible as being something people can grow within their own personal walk with God."
