Google Nexus 8 Release Soon as Photos Leak, Google to Include Advanced Vision Capabilities

Google's Nexus 8 made it to the headlines earlier this year only for the hype to die down. Nonetheless, talks about Google's 8-inch tablet started surfacing again as a new report showed leaked images of the device. The leaked photos show people what they can expect from the internet giant's latest venture. More importantly, recent reports also suggested that Google has been focusing on integrating advanced vision features on its next tablet releases.

Chinese website Mydrivers.com uploaded photos of the suspected Google Nexus 8. From the images, people can see a Nexus 8 wrapped in an outer case. It is hard to identify how the tablet's exterior really looks like because of the case. Nonetheless, it does provide a peak on the device's screen featuring large icons. Other reported specs of the tablet include a Qualcomm 64-bit ARM processor, Android 4.5 Lollipop and 3GB RAM.

Given the Nexus 8 will feature a Qualcomm 64-bit ARM processor then it will go against reports before suggesting that Google has the Intel Moorefield 64-bit chip in sight. The release of the Nexus 8 also marks Google's new venture. According to analysts, the company has been interested in exploring the 8-inch sector because the 7-inch sector has been increasingly saturated. The company has also stuck to producing 7 and 10-inch tables though the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. The Nexus 8 will be a completely new product line.

By releasing a slightly larger slate, Google may be able to tap into a sector therefore attracting additional clients. Only a few companies have explored 8-inch slates taking away the stiff competition Google has been experiencing with 7-inch tablets.

Google has not announced details of the Nexus 8 officially. There have also been reports about the company's work on advanced vision capabilities. According to The Wall Street Journal, Google has 4,000 prototypes ready to work on advanced vision. The devices will have two back cameras and in-depth sensors. If successful, the company will be able to produce tablets with three-dimensional image capture capabilities. Originally, the devices were said to be around 7 inches but from reports about the switch on 8-inch slates, it can also be the case.
