Top Sony Xperia Z Problems and Fixes

By

The Sony Xperia Z received positive response from the market. However, it is not immune to problems. Here are some of the top problems and fixes for the device.

1. Suddent Death

-Some phones won't wake up once sent to sleep.

Fix: Hard reset the device. You can do this by pressing the volume up and the power button to force the hard reset. If the hard reset does not work, the only thing that can fix the phone is the released update from Sony.

2. Wi-Fi won't connect or Wi-Fi drops

-Many Xperia owners have been complaining about their Wi-Fi connections. Most people are saying that their signal drops more often than not. There's also a possibility that the power-saving Stamina Mode is having an impact because it stops automatic syncing and cuts connections when you turn the display off.

Fix: Make sure that the Bluetooth is turned off. Restart the router and the device.

3. LED Notifications not working

-Whenever users receive a text, email, or notification, there should be an LED flash at the top right of the display. There have been complaints that the LED does not flash. This could be the result of either a back up problem, or your phone is in Stamina Mode.

Fix: Turn off Stamina Mode by going to Settings > Power Management > Stamina Mode off. Also try going to Settings > Back up and Reset, then make sure that Back Up My Data is off and then tap Factory Data Reset. Be careful with this method as you will lose your data with the second method.

4. Overheating

-There are many complaints about the Sony Xpera Z handsets heating up during use. As many manufacturers today pack in powerful hardware into small cases, many smart phones will heat up when used too much. The longer and more intense the use, the warmer it will become.

Fix: Check out guides on how to maximize battery life on Android phones, and how to make battery life last longer. Also, you can turn on Stamina Mode.
