The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been a widely praised device compared to new players even up to now. Here are some top problems and fixes to ensure users have a smooth experience.
1. Random restarting
-A good numbers of Samsung Galaxy S4 owners have been complaining about their devices randomly restarting. The S4 sometimes restarts itself from time to time without any action triggering it.
Fix: Try updating to the latest software available by going to Settings > More > About Device > Software Update and tap update. Most problems seem to be related to the micro SD card inserted into the phone. Users can try removing it and see if the random restarts still happen.
2. Lack of Memory/Storage
-When you buy a Samsung Galaxy S4 with 16gb of memory, you will surely be disappointed to find only 8.5gb free. The operating system and preloaded applications alone take up around 6gb of the space.
Fix: You can buy a micro SD card that has storage up to 64gb. You can also use cloud storages like Dropbox and Google Drive.
3. SIM card not inserted
-Some users might find that they don't have any service, or messages saying: "SIM card removed. The mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid SIM card."
Fix: Turn the device off, remove the SIM card and try cleaning it by wiping off dust. Put it back in and then turn on your phone. If that doesn't work, try getting another SIM card and try testing that. If it still does not work, it could be a faulty unit and you should take it back to the store and get a replacement.
4. Battery drain
-Battery life has always been a problem with today's smartphones. If you are experiencing battery problems, it could be caused by many things.
Fix: Use a dark wallpaper, so that the screen's backlight would not have to be bright. You can also reduce the screen brightness, and turn off any features that you are not using like Wi-Fi, Mobile data, GPS, etc.
