Samsung Galaxy S5 is the current flagship from the Korean tech giant. To make sure the device can keep up with the user's needs; here are some tips on increasing the speed of the handset.
1. Turn off Battery Saver mode
The Battery Saver mode is a great way to save power, but this limits the processing speed and power of the Galaxy S5. You can switch the Battery Saver mode on and off from the notifications bar, or by going to the settings.
2. Free up some of the phone's memory
The Samsung Galaxy S5's performance really slows down when the phone's internal memory is almost full. If you notice your phone getting slower as time passes by, try checking how much free memory your phone has left by going to Settings > Storage. Don't forget to check the Miscellaneous folder wherein you will find any applications that are using up storage or unfinished downloads.
3. Disable animations in the phone's software
Every time users unlock their screen, a special effect appears. When you switch applications or press the home button, the screen appears as though it is zooming in. All of these animations seem cool, but they use up precious time that could be used doing other things. It may seem like just one second, but when users accumulate all the time waiting for the special effects to finish, the time spent could be a lot. To get rid of the special effects, people will have to turn off home screen transitions, animations, and lock screen special effects.
4. Clean your cache
Everything people do on their smartphone maintains a cache in the phone's storage system. As time goes by, applications get larger caches, and this slows the system down. If the person deletes these caches regularly, you can limit the lag of you Galaxy S5. Users can do this by downloading the App Cache Cleaner from the Google Play Store. People can set how often they want the cache to clear automatically, so that users do not have to manually do this often.
