Among Samsung Galaxy S5's reported variants, the Galaxy S5 Prime edition has been getting the most attention. According to previous leaks, the device will feature a premium build and comparable features to the flagship. Likewise, additional photos of the device suggest Samsung has been working on a gold edition of the Prime line. Whereas it has been related to the Galaxy F line, what can people really expect from the Prime edition? Will Samsung go for a luxury line under S5 or a completely different series?
Some reports suggest that the suspected Galaxy S5 Prime line may be another product series from Samsung. The product will reportedly go by the name Samsung Galaxy F. However, unless Samsung releases an official statement, there is no guarantee thus talks about the Galaxy S5 Prime remain alive.
Phone Arena published leaked photos of the device featuring an expanded display than the original S5. The handset also has slimmer bezels and curvier build than the flagship. Similar to the previous leaks, the suspected S5 Prime appears to have an aluminum build although it is difficult to figure out whether it is just a brush finish or an actual aluminum. It does look like the LG G3 as opposed to the dimpled pattern predicted before. Despite the expanded display, all other dimensions are similar to the S5.
Some of the reported specs according to Android Central include 5.25-inch QHD AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, Snapdragon 805 or Samsung Exynos processor and 3GB RAM. The device should be released around the same time as the Galaxy Note 4 in September. A gold edition of the "Samsung Galaxy F" series was also posted by well known tipster @evleaks. The photo bears a caption "perfect golden hue."
Samsung has not released any details or any official announcements about the device or its upcoming series.
