With the 2014 NBA Free Agency drawing near, their has been so much talk about LeBron Jame's future the past few days after the world witnessed the Miami Heat crumble in the NBA finals against the Spurs. Their are rumors flying everywhere about Carmelo joining LeBron and the Heat, LeBron going to L.A Lakers, LeBron joining Rose and Noah in Chicago, and so on and so forth.
But how about LeBron James to Cleveland? Its a bold prediction but at least that's what one NBA player thinks.
According to Houston Rockets wing-man Chandler Parsons, LeBron James will not resign with Miami this summer and will likely go back to his birth place Ohio and the Cavs franchise that drafted him No. 1 overall in 2003. He believes that the Heat's loss to the Spurs and its failure to capture a historical 3-peat will be a strong factor on the four-time MVP's decision to leave the Heat.
"I think if they would have won the championship, it would have been a different story and they would have come back to do it again .... I think he's done all he can do there, and it's time for him to move on."
If LeBron does leave the Heat to join Kyrie Irving and the Cavs, it would not be purely for a shot at an NBA title. It would be a move to mend broken bonds, heal past wounds, and erase all hate and bitterness that the entire Cleveland Cavalier Nation felt when LeBron made "The Decision". For the Cavaliers franchise and all its fans, LeBron's decision to team up with his super friends in south beach was an act of betrayal.
Maybe LeBron's thinking that its not yet too late to salvage his reputation in Cleveland. Or perhaps he felt guilty for his past actions and wants to make things right this time by going back to Cleveland and helping them win a title under his leadership. Or maybe he wants to face the past and exorcise those demons that he solely created when he left Cleveland in a hunt for NBA Championship.
Regardless of what we are guessing and he is feeling about switching teams, we do know his feelings are towards the 2014 World Cup right now seen from his twitter account. He gives no hints to the thousands of tweeters about the next move, but comments are only supporting the war waging footballers in Brazil.
One things is for sure though, anything is possible for the best player in the planet when he becomes a free agent this summer and at this point in his career, he has the skill, talent, and experience to take any NBA team to the top. A reunion with the Cleveland Cavaliers, therefore, is always a possibility for the widely regarded King of basketball. And with all the love and support that Cleveland has given him early in his career, LeBron owes them a lot and what better way to repay such a debt than an NBA title.
Maybe, just maybe, we will be seeing LeBron in a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey this coming summer of the 2014 NBA free agency.
