"Rizzoli and Isles" cast are still coping on the sudden death of the actor Lee Thompson Young, who took fame on Smallville as Cyborg and his role on Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson, due to his bipolar disorder. Meanwhile, the stars of the said TV series gave hints of what to expect on the next season.
Detective Frost's, who earlier played by Thompson Young, memorial service will be featured on next week's episode at 9:00 pm EDT.
"I hope that people who knew him and adored him and loved him on the show will enjoy it and be able to move through it with us," Sasha Alexander was quoted on The Epoch Times.
With Jan Nash being the new director, it was reported he's holding on to a difficult task. "I really do think it was very brave of TNT and Warner Bros. and Jan Nash to embark on handling it head-on," Dr. Maura Isles, who is being portrayed by Alexander, said.
"They might have been like, 'I can't deal with this. I don't know how to handle this,' but they didn't. They went for it and everyone just embraced it and I think that was really just to show our love for him."
Moreover, the actress, casts, and the production are still saddened by the loss of a good friend.
"They have not replaced him and don't intend to do so anytime soon," she said.
"So his seat remains empty and it's something that we have had to look at and struggle with from day one of shooting."
Due to Lee's death, TNT has released their sincerest statement as quoted by ClassicaLite, "We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and, most especially, to his beloved mother."
The official synopsis of the series states: "In season five, Jane and Maura will investigate more complex and dangerous cases than ever before, including the murder of a jogging mother that leads to the search for her missing baby, the pursuit of a killer who uses online ads to lure in the perfect candidate for murder, and the investigation of a man killed in his supposedly impenetrable doomsday shelter. The team will also deal with the loss of a dear friend and colleague as they say goodbye to Detective Barry Frost (Lee Thompson Young)."
