It will not be until this fall when people can see and experience the iOS 8. Nonetheless, for those with existing iOS, here are some tips and tricks to enhance user experience.
1. Block calls and text messages
-Sometimes, people just will not stop bugging you. Be it an ex boyfriend or girlfriend, a pushy salesman, anyone you can think of. This feature is a gem to use because you will be able to shut that person out. To make use of this feature, head to the contact that you want to block, and then scroll all the way down and tap Block this Caller. That contact will never be able to call you again. If you want to block messages, go to Settings > Messages > Blocked. This will also apply to FaceTime and iMessage.
2. Show timestamps for text messages
-Before iOS 7, people were unable to check the timestamps for text messages. A timestamp would only appear at 30 minute intervals, or at the first message of the conversation. At present, you can check your messages' timestamps by swiping from right to left at any conversation thread.
3. Short names in messages or email
-Do you have too many Johns in your contacts? You can make their names show up as either "first initial, last name" or "first name, last initial" or the full name. You can also opt to prefer nicknames if you have nicknames set for your contacts in your contact list.
4. Enable automatic HDR (High Dynamic Range)
-HDR allows you to take a photo of the subject with both sharp light and deep shadow and render it as evenly lit. The only problem is that HDR shots take longer to shoot than the average image. With the iPhone 5S, you can turn HDR on automatically. In normal light, your iPhone will take a normal photo. In a setting with multiple light patterns, HDR will be enabled automatically, and will try to capture an HDR photo.
