Boosting the battery life of iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5 and iOS devices

Everyone can agree on two things when it comes to Apple iOS devices- while they offer premium features, they do not have as much battery life as many would want. Fortunately, there are several ways to increase or boost battery life of iOS devices.

Dim thebrightness on your screen

Most people forget the gravity of adjusting the brightness on their device. It is the largest power draw on the device, consequently the brighter the device is, the more power it uses. It's a really simple thing to do that saves a lot of energy, so make sure to lower the brightness as much as you can.

Disable 3G/LTE

Cellular data usage is one of the top causes of battery drainage. There have been reports that it can shrink the battery life of devices from 100% to 75% in a span of 20 minutes. It is best to turn off data usage when not in use to avoid battery drain.

Disable Wifi/Bluetooth

Every time the device's WiFi and Bluetooth are enabled, it automatically uses juice. Even when the phone is locked and the user is not using it, battery can still be exhausted because the device has receivers and transmitters that check for push notifications or background devices from time to time.

Buy a power bank/ car charger

If worse comes to worst and doing all the previous steps still won't be enough, the last resort for users is to buy a power bank or a car charger. They are both really convenient and well situated for. Using a car charger or a power bank can help extend the life of the device.

Adjusting the Background App Refresh can also help in preventing more battery drain. To fix this, go to Settings, open General and turn off Background App Refresh.
